Open Audio Creator Help Guide
Last updated: December 9, 2025
Welcome to Open Audio Creator Studio. This guide covers uploading music, managing your catalog, understanding analytics, and troubleshooting common issues.
1
Getting Started
- Access Creator Studio: Sign in to your account and navigate to Creator Studio from the main menu. You'll need a verified account to upload content.
- Creator Account Setup: After your first upload, your account is automatically tagged as a creator. This gives you access to analytics, revenue tracking, and advanced features.
- Navigation: Use the header to access Quick Actions (Upload Single Track, Upload Album), view your Music Library, check Analytics, and manage settings. The dashboard shows your key stats at a glance.
2
Uploading Music
- Single Track Upload: Click "Upload Single Track" in Quick Actions. Fill in track details (title, artist, genre, description), upload your audio file (MP3, WAV, FLAC, or AAC), and optionally add cover art. Click "Upload Track" to submit. Progress bars show upload status for both audio and cover art separately.
- Album/EP Upload: Select "Upload Album" and choose Album (5+ tracks) or EP (2-4 tracks). Upload multiple audio files, arrange track order by dragging, add album artwork, and fill in metadata. All tracks are processed together and appear as a collection.
- File Requirements: Audio files should be high quality (320kbps MP3 recommended, or WAV/FLAC for lossless). Maximum file size is 100MB per track. Cover art should be square (1000x1000px minimum) in JPG or PNG format.
- Metadata Best Practices: Use accurate titles and artist names, select appropriate genres (you can choose multiple), add descriptive text, and set release dates. Good metadata helps listeners discover your music.
- Unlimited Uploads: Open Audio offers unlimited free uploads. Upload as many tracks and albums as you want without restrictions or fees.
3
Managing Your Catalog
- View All Tracks: Your Music Library shows all uploaded tracks in a table format. View track details, cover art, genres, plays, likes, downloads, and release dates at a glance.
- Edit Track Metadata: Click the edit icon on any track to update title, artist, genres, description, or release date. Note: You cannot replace the audio file after upload. Changes save immediately and reflect across the platform.
- Search & Filter: Use the search bar to find tracks by title or artist name. Filter by genre using the dropdown. Sort by plays, likes, downloads, or release date in ascending or descending order. Filters work together for precise results.
- Delete Tracks: Currently, track deletion requires contacting support at openaudio@youngfuturetech.com with the track ID. We're working on adding a delete feature directly in Creator Studio. Deletion removes both the audio file and metadata.
- Time Range Filters: Use the time range selector (7d, 30d, 90d, All Time) to view stats for specific periods. This helps track growth and performance over time.
4
Analytics & Statistics
- Dashboard Stats: The main dashboard displays Total Tracks, Total Plays, Monthly Listeners, Total Likes, Total Downloads, and Average Plays per Track. Growth indicators show percentage changes for plays and listeners.
- Advanced Analytics: Scroll down to see detailed charts including Plays Over Time (30-day history), Peak Listening Hours, Genre Performance breakdown, and Top Engagement Tracks. Key insights highlight your best-performing content and trends.
- Monthly Listeners: Estimated as 30% of total plays (unique listeners). This metric helps you understand your audience reach and growth.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor which tracks get the most plays, likes, and downloads. Use this data to understand what resonates with your audience and plan future releases.
- Real-Time Updates: Stats update automatically as listeners interact with your music. Refresh the page to see the latest numbers.
5
Revenue Tracking
- Earnings Overview: The Revenue Analytics section shows estimated earnings based on streams ($4.00 per 1,000 plays) and downloads ($0.50 per download). These are demo estimates for tracking purposes.
- Monthly Projections: View projected monthly earnings based on current performance trends. This helps you forecast potential revenue.
- Payment Processing: Real payment integration is coming in a future update. Currently, revenue tracking is for analytics purposes only. You'll be notified when payout features are available.
- Revenue Breakdown: See separate totals for stream revenue and download revenue, plus your combined estimated earnings. All amounts are displayed in your local currency.
6
Data Export
- Export Options: Click the "Export Data" button in the header to download your data. Choose between CSV (for spreadsheets) or JSON (for developers) formats.
- Export Contents: Exports include all track data (titles, artists, genres, plays, likes, downloads, release dates) plus summary statistics (totals, averages, growth metrics). Files are timestamped with the export date.
- Data Portability: Use exports for backup, analysis in external tools, or record-keeping. You can export your data at any time, as often as needed.
- Privacy Requests: For complete data exports including account information, contact openaudio@youngfuturetech.com with your account email.

Troubleshooting
- Upload Fails or Stuck: Check your internet connection and file size (max 100MB per track). Try refreshing the page and uploading again. If uploads consistently fail, clear your browser cache or try a different browser. Contact support if the issue persists.
- Stats Not Updating: Stats update automatically but may take a few minutes to reflect new plays or downloads. Refresh the page to see the latest numbers. If stats seem incorrect, contact support with specific track IDs and timestamps.
- Can't Edit Track: Ensure you're signed in and viewing your own tracks. The edit button appears on hover (desktop) or is visible on mobile cards. If editing fails, try refreshing the page or signing out and back in.
- Search/Filter Not Working: Clear your search query and filters, then reapply them. Ensure you're using the correct genre names. If filters don't work, refresh the page to reload track data.
- Firestore Permission Errors: If you see "missing or insufficient permissions" errors, try signing out and signing back in. This refreshes your authentication token. If errors persist, contact support with the specific error message.
- Export Download Issues: Ensure pop-up blockers aren't preventing the download. Check your browser's download folder. If exports are empty or corrupted, try exporting again or use a different format (CSV vs JSON).
- Analytics Charts Not Loading: Charts require sufficient data to display. If you have fewer than 2 tracks or limited play history, some charts may not appear. Wait until you have more data, or contact support if charts should be visible but aren't.

Best Practices
- Upload Quality Content: Use high-quality audio files (320kbps MP3 or higher) and professional cover art. Good quality helps your music stand out and provides better listener experience.
- Complete Metadata: Fill in all track details accurately. Use proper genre tags, write engaging descriptions, and set correct release dates. Complete metadata improves discoverability.
- Regular Uploads: Consistent releases help build your audience. Use analytics to understand when your audience is most active and schedule releases accordingly.
- Monitor Analytics: Check your stats regularly to understand what's working. Pay attention to which genres perform best, peak listening times, and track engagement patterns.
- Engage with Your Audience: While direct fan engagement features are coming, focus on creating great music and maintaining a consistent presence. Share your Open Audio links on social media to drive traffic.
- Backup Your Data: Regularly export your analytics data for record-keeping. Keep copies of your original audio files and cover art in case you need to re-upload or make changes.
